Clay: A medium that requires patience, perseverance and commitment. It is a tactile medium that awakens the senses and relies on your hands to manipulate it into something tangible. Functional or decorative, there are endless possibilities for clay. The meditative practice of centering and lifting has you feeling mindful during your creative process with different textures and bodies which serve for different purposes.
Fibers: A versatile sculptural medium that has been used since the beginning of time for a multiple of purposes. I love that this is a renewable resource that comes to us with different textures, colors, lengths and uses. In regards to traditional wet felting, tiny microscopic barbs that are compressed together to create an unwoven fabric through pressure, water and a touch a lubricant or soap. It can be dyed, spun, felted and comes in animal fibers like mohair, wool, and alpaca, or plant fibers like bamboo, cotton, and hemp.
